And this ott-oberfest commercial is great!!

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 8:19 PM CDT reply actions

A few stats to support the lead..

Other than the obvious 1-0, the boys are tied or winning all of these:
FW (7-7)
Hits (12-10)
Takeaways (7-5)

The FW and hits category surprised me the most, but goes to show that they certainly help your cause.

Also I hope more than before that Ott is in the lineup for the next game against the Kings this week. If Johnson goes for Morrow’s knee one more time (and god forbid connects) someon’s gotta be on the ice to take the cheap shot bastard out. That “hip check” gave me flashbacks of Johnson’s hit on Downie during the world juniors.

From Yahoo’s PuckDaddy blog:

Chicago Blackhawks: The headline reads, “Huet: ‘I feel like I let the team down.’” Now, which game is he talking about? The one where he gave up three goals on 24 shots, the one where he gave up three goals on 23 shots, the one where he gave up three goals on 19 shots, the one where he gave up three goals on five shots, or the one where he gave up four goals on 25 shots? that was a great move by Brown though, i’ve always thought of him as a defensive guy who gets grit goals, but he’s got some offensive talent too

Of course it wasnt cleared….

In other Pacific division news, the Sharks lit up the Rangers. Not looking forward to the season series with them….

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:03 PM CDT reply actions

The way this team is playing/getting scoring chances…It could just as well be 10-0 right now. If they can come back and do something it will be a frickin miracle

by k9mike on Oct 19, 2009 9:04 PM CDT reply actions

Like it always does, even before a game where it’s flying all over and sticking up in funny places. my hair looks that way if I don’t shower for 2-3 days…

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:06 PM CDT up reply actions

that settles it

I am going to Dallas and doing a hair intervention. I should write a blog post about the bad hair and overuse of product on the Stars.

by Happy Girl on Oct 19, 2009 9:07 PM CDT up reply actions

marty turco.....

it seems to me that every goal he lets up is shortside. Its much harder to score far side so why is he always off his post…its pissing me off so much just get on the post

If that “Star Wars” in concert thing wasn’t being held at the Death Star i’d so go… but that place is horrible for concerts, especially in the affordable seats

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:08 PM CDT reply actions

Really?

That’s really disappointing to hear. Even with the doors closed?

by Brandon Worley on Oct 19, 2009 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

I haven’t been for a concert myself, but the audio quality for even game stuff was bad in the 400 seats, either too loud or too soft, erring on the side of too soft.

Story is a sound consultant was brought in and told Jerry he’d need to spend about 3 mil to make it accoustically sound. But he was out of cash, so he said no. if they wanted to add the sound stuff in late, it will now cost about 10 mil.

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Does the crowd sound louder there?

by Brandon Worley on Oct 19, 2009 9:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Hmm not sure, i was at a pre-season game. My buddy was at the giants game with 110K in there and it sounded pretty loud, but that’s artificial, it normally holds 80k or so.

We have Ott… But we need him to fight less and Barch needs to step up as well as Ott has been playing offensivley (if you count end of last year)

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:15 PM CDT up reply actions

yeah we have ott but this dude took down half the opposing team on the ice.. i don’t think i’ve ever seen ott be that outright bad@ss… reminded me of the hanson brothers..

More from the yahoo puckdaddy blog

Dallas Stars: What to make of this apparent goalie controversy in Dallas? Well, since Marc Crawford has made it clear that Marty Turco(notes) and Alex Auld(notes) will continue to split time about 70-30 despite Auld playing just as well as Turco of late, I guess what you can take away is that Turco has some dirt on Crawford.

by SConn on Oct 19, 2009 9:20 PM CDT reply actions

maybe Turco paid Crawford ONE BILLION DOLLARS to guarantee he’d play in 70% of the games …lol

by Happy Girl on Oct 19, 2009 9:21 PM CDT up reply actions

One thing I don’t like about the stars new D scheme is the emphasis it places on the C not just on the back-check but in the zone itself, i’m sorry but Ribiero and Richards are not out there to be defensive forwards. Sutherby/Petersen/Ott, sure, but i’d rather see Richards and Ribiero trying to take the pointmen

by Taloncarde on Oct 19, 2009 9:22 PM CDT reply actions

Considering some of the stupid questions he had? Sure. I always hate reporters that ask stupid questions. If I was a player or a coach, i’m sure i’d have at least one assault charge filed on me at this point :P

The ones on the Ice are actually pretty good skaters.

the ones in the stands just do the same 5 dance moves that are supposed to be “sexy”

Or the thing that annoys me is after an opposition goal they stand back to back trying to look “cool”. Stupidest thing ever
