Dallas Stars morning news & notes

The Dallas Stars signed prospect Colton Scevior to a three year entry level contract yesterday. Scevior is an exciting young goal scorer who, most importantly, is a right-handed right wing. Through 45 games with WHL Lethbridge Scevior has 21 goals and 31 assists.

The NHL officially announced Stephane Robidas' invitation to the All Star game. He will be replacing Nicklas Lidstrom. Robidas on his selection:

"Honestly, I wouldn't have even considered that it could ever happen. I thought they were pulling a joke on me when they told me," Robidas said. "But I think I am a much better player now than I was two or three years ago, and I think that's because of the coaches and the people here. And that's a good feeling in itself."

Mark Stepneski has an good breakdown of the statiscal trends the Stars are falling into lately, none of them very encouraging.

Mike Heika has some notes from yesterday's practice, where the players skated hard and said all the right things about being frustrated with the loss to Tampa Bay. Lines from practice:

Ott-Ribeiro-Lehtinen
Neal-Modanno-Parrish
Conner/Lundqvist-Richards-Eriksson
Sutherby-Petersen-Barch
