The Ticket Announces 5-year Flagship Deal With Stars

So, despite specualtion of mergers and show shuffling, 1310 the Ticket's big announcement this morning is that they'll be the Dallas Stars flagship for the next 5-years. Bob Sturm 's little hockey pants are going crazy right now.

I like this for the Stars. For all their failings, I feel like KTCK has always done a fairly good job with hockey. I'm also assuming we'll get more Razor, which is great. Not so sure this is a great move for the Ticket, but that's a discussion for another time.

Speaking of radio and tv

Did anyone here the play by play guy for Buffalo? Go watch the highlights on Stars.com from last nights game. The dudes voice is so squeaky and high pitched, and he made ever goal sound like it was the trying goal in the playoffs. Talk about obnoxious!

Texas Rangers- You hang 'em, we bang 'em!

Rick Jeanneret

is the announcer… he’s been around for decades. Very famous (or more accurately, infamous) around the league for his… energetic style.

He can be pretty hilarious at times, but I do love his color guy Harry Neale. Very dry, low key… the opposite of Jeanneret

Most likely, yes.

Their contract is up this year with Dallas and supposedly the Cowboys were unhappy with the poor signal strength and some other aspects of the broadcast. The thing is The Ticket doesn’t need the Cowboys and the Cowboys don’t need The Ticket. I’m pretty certain the games will be moved to 105.3 The Fan for next season.

Kinda Dumb Move

Hockey is definitely not a radio sport. Not to mention Razor Ray is who the majority want to listen to.

Razor

The ticket will be keeping the same broadcast team in place. So, the only thing that changes is the game is now broadcast on 1310 instead of 820. and the Ticket will continue to do the post game shows. Now, however, Razor will likely participate in the postgame.
