No SBN site is complete without FanShots, so why not start with a logical one?
Hard to believe it has been ten years, isn't it?

Great way to start us off!
It’s been ten years, but I still remember that night pretty vividly.
My Dad and brother had fallen asleep and I was the only one still awake in the house. When Hull scored I started tearing through the house like a mad man. I couldn’t believe it. Then I ran outside waving my Stars flag and a few fellow Stars fan were running around the neighborhood as well. It was great.

I won't lie...
I actually slept through the second overtime.
Thankfully, God, Buddha, Zeus, or some other supreme deity woke me up for the third overtime and everything that ensued.

It's a bit of a microcosm for the American hockey fan base as a whole
Not large numbers by any stretch of the imagination, but the fans who follow it are very knowledgeable and very passionate.
Does that sound accurate, other Stars fans? (By the way, can we refer to ourselves as DBDers now? No blog is complete without beating people down with acronyms, right?)

You know what's funny?
When trying to come up with a name for this site, I was also taking into account what the acronym would be. I was seriously thinking about Green and Gold.com…but then realized we would call ourselves “GAGers”.
As far as the fans: I would say Stars fans are extremely loyal to their team and have become very knowledgeable. There is always the contingent of bandwagon fans that jump on when everything is going well, but I can’t express how awesome it was to see how tenacious the fans were at the AAC during the playoffs last year.

There's a very diehard contingent of Stars fans
But we all know how Dallas operates. It’s all Cowboys all the time, and then the city kind of collectively picks a bandwagon to jump out of the Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers depending on which team looks the best at the moment.
I love that most Stars fans are true hockey fans though, not just homers. I’ll never forget the looks on Patrick Roy or Mark Recchi’s faces when they received standing ovations in Dallas for career milestones.

I still remember the night
Or should I say, late morning. Just moved into my new house with my family, still boxes everywhere, and when Hull scored, I remember nearly breaking my toe jumping up and down and landing hard on an unopened box.
As glad as I am that we won, I was a little disappointed, cause I had game 7 tickets (that are sitting on my wall) and could have seen us win the cup in person. Things would change a year later when I was at game 6 of the Devils series, when they won the cup….
Is it Spring Training Yet?
Nice one
Remember the night well… was only 13 years old at the time, scared to death because I was in Austin at my grandparent’s house and was afraid they might not show the game on TV down there in lieu of a Spurs game or something. Luckily they did and I was able to go batshit crazy at whatever hour of the morning that was, waking up the entire family in the process. Still by far my greatest sports memory, more than any by the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs, etc.
anyone have a link of the video with Ralph and Razor from the radio broadcast?
